It is often the case that small business
success stories begin with adversity. In
August 2004 Jon Robertson was jobless and
almost penniless with little idea of what
the future held. For a couple of years
prior he had a growing interest in website
design and development and the quality of
work was a professional enough level that
commercial clients began taking note and
requesting proposals. In September of 2004
JAG Marketing & Communications was born.
What started as website design for small
businesses began to envelope other services
related to website design, such as web
hosting, search engine marketing and website
maintenance.
 In
November 2007 JAG moved from being a home
based business to being located at 199
Wellington Street West in downtown Chatham,
across from the Liquor Store. JAG boasts an
efficient and dedicated staff of four,
including Jon as the business development
and production manager. Office Manager
Theresa Benoit is usually the first point of
contact for customers and clients who call
in. She looks after keeping the
administrative end of the business running
smoothly. Russell Landry handles all sales
related inquiries and Chris Cartwright is
JAG’s programming and IT central command.
The philosophy at JAG is refreshing. “Our
company is more than just a programming
company,” says Robertson, “We like to sit
down and talk to our clients, get to know
their business and find real ways to help
them grow through the use of an online
medium.” Obviously that approach is working
if the large list of local clients means
anything.
In July 2008 JAG launched their own new
website which showcases all of the services
that they offer including ecommerce
solutions, web programming, online content
management systems, search engine marketing
and all services related to running an
online application. The site also contains
testimonials from satisfied clientele as
well as a portfolio of work for such well
known Chatham-Kent organizations as the
Chatham-Kent Children’s Safety Village,
Alexander Funeral Home, Quality Custom
Covers, Lloyd Bag Company, Van Kesteren
Hyundai and the town of Blenheim, just to
name a few.
JAG is proud to be native to Chatham-Kent
and all of our staff members are long time
residents of the area. They are happy to be
recognized as the leader in website
development in Chatham-Kent and look forward
to adding many more Chatham-Kent businesses
and organizations to their quickly growing
portfolio.
From the very
beginning we promised ourselves that we
would not confuse our customers with a
plethora of "tech-speak" by describing in
dull detail how we intended to do
everything. We are simply interested
in discussing the desired result with the
customer and then going back to the
production room and producing that result.
In fact an early slogan here at JAG was
"Concept. Development. Results."
We are devoted to maintaining that
philosophy in every aspect of our business. |
